Abstract. We consider the distributed optimal control of a nonlocal
convective Cahn-Hilliard equation by the velocity in a
three-dimensional domain. Through the convective term,
the coupling between state and control is nonlinear. We
report recent results (joint work with E. Rocca) concerning
well-posedness and regularity of the state equation and
the Fréchet differentiability of the control-state-mapping.
Constructing the associated adjoint state equation, we
derive the first-order necessary optimality conditions for
the control problem.
