FRANCO-ITALIAN SEMINAR, Sala Conferenze, IMATI-CNR - Friday, June 24, 2016 h.10:00
Abstract. The Virtual Element Method is an extension of the classical Finite Element Method which allows to use a decomposition of the computational domain consisting of general polygons and polyhedra. In this talk I will first present an overview of the theory together with several applications to the approximation of classical PDE problems. Then I will discuss future perspectives and open problems.
