A free discontinuity approach for the optimization of the Robin-Laplacian eigenvalues

Abstract.  We propose a free discontinuity approach for the optimization of higher order eigenvalues of the Robin-Laplacian operator. In particular we find a variational problem on a suitable space of vector valued functions of SBV-type which can be considered as a relaxation of the classical shape optimization problem.
