Abstract. Generic Vanishing is a very powerful tool in the study of
irregular varieties. Recently, Hacon and Kovàcs showed that this vanishing
theorem does not extend to positive characteristc: They provide
counterexamples in dimension three and higher. In this talk, we discuss
how to produce a counterexample to Generic Vanishing in dimension two.
Furthermore, we improve the result of Hacon and Kovàcs by producing
counterexamples for which the Albanese map is finite.
