Gradient flow formulation of linear Boltzmann equations

Abstract. We provide a gradient flow formulation of non-homogeneous linear Boltzmann equations in terms of an entropy dissipation inequality. In the framework of the Sandier-Serfaty scheme, we discuss the
corresponding diffusive limit proving convergence of the marginal on the position to the heat equation.
