Objectives

The course aims at providing the basics of mechanics and thermodynamics. The kinematics and dynamics of the motion of a material point and of more complex systems will be presented. The laws of the thermodynamics will be discussed and analysed from both macroscopic and microscopic points of view.

Teaching methods

Lessons with pratical examples

Examination

Written and oral evaluation

Prerequisites

Analysis I

Syllabus

Kinematics of the material point: uniform linear motion, uniform accelerated motion, circular motion, harmonic motion and dumped oscillations. Relative motions.
